A Preview of India & Beyond

Earlier in 2001 I traveled to India with a group of American journalists. For many of them it was a first trip to India; it was my thirtieth journey. One evening, sitting in the gardens following dinner at Jaipur's Loharu House, Rudy Maxa from NPR's Savvy Traveler asked me, "What is it about India that compels you to return so often?" As I began to consider my favorite memories, I realized the experience of this night symbolizes what my love affair with India is about. Our exquisite twenty-five-course meal was prepared and served in the culinary tradition of the Loharu State, in the home of Begum Loharu. Our small group shared this special evening with the Curator of the Jaipur City Palace Museum, friends from Delhi building a farmhouse using ancient techniques, a novelist writing about her childhood at a Himalayan Jesuit school and an artist who uses stained glass as a medium for Moghul miniature art. It is the people of India, their stories, great achievements and overwhelming hospitality that inspires me to return again and again.

When you travel to India, whether it is your first time or a repeat journey, the people you encounter will entice you, beguile you and ultimately may even change you. We invite you to begin your journey here. Imagine the exciting possibilities that can become a part of your India & Beyond experience. Our staff will then thoughtfully craft a Signature Escorted, Private or Custom journey with Signature Events™ that matches your interests and desires, so that you can realize a truly memorable cultural adventure.a.
