Position Title: Director of Product Development
Department: Product Development

Position Summary

Cox & Kings, The Americas, is seeking a Director of Product Development to oversee and expand the company's growing product line. This position is ideal for an experienced product development manager with a strong drive to create best-in-class products, an entrepreneurial spirit, effective negotiation, relationship and project management skills, and a zeal for addressing marketplace needs, trends, and changes through unique product offerings.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new compelling, unique products on a quarterly and ad hoc basis, and partner with destination specialists, marketing, and business development teams to create differentiated products for various audiences and distribution channels
  • Vet and contract destination management companies and other on-the-ground suppliers
  • Work in conjunction with destination specialists to maintain and strengthen relationships with on-the-ground suppliers and ensure that they are delivering services according to the high standards set forth in service-level agreements
  • Conduct research and analysis on a consistent basis to ensure that company products are appealing and priced competitively
  • Identify market trends and opportunities; propose and create FIT and group products that address trends and capture these business opportunities
  • Own product roadmap and calendars
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of products and services available in the marketplace at destinations worldwide and of products and services available through Cox & Kings, The Americas
  • In conjunction with business team, serve as a key point of contact for all new product and supply opportunities
  • Coordinate with sales and marketing teams to offer compelling incentives to travel advisors and clients
  • Ensure product content on website and other channels is up-to-date and accurate
  • Develop and deploy training of destination specialists, outside sales, travel advisors, and marketing and PR teams on new product offerings (including the organization of FAM trips)
  • Coordinate with other Cox & Kings divisions (Bentours, Tempo Holidays, SuperBreak, Cox & Kings U.K., Meininger and others) to leverage existing product and supply contracts


Skills and Abilities

  • Must possess demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Experience with online product distribution and/or dynamic packaging is a plus
  • Must possess exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, critical thinking and decision-making capabilities
  • Must have strong mathematic aptitude
  • Must have proven success contracting and negotiating
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Must have excellent organizational skills with demonstrated initiative and ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Must be detail-oriented
  • Must perform well under pressure in fast-paced environment and meet required deadlines
  • Must be able to interact with employees at all levels within the organization
  • Attend relevant national and international trade shows as required
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite applications and proficient in basic computer operations


Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • 7+ years' experience in similar position
  • Experience with custom-tailored luxury FIT products, and with contracting DMCs

Sales Director


Department: Agency Sales
Accountable To: Vice President Agency Sales
Employment Status: Full-Time
Location: Various regions excluding west coast


Position Summary
The successful candidate will be a dynamic and results orientated individual who is intelligent, creative, forward thinking, and above all, able to demonstrate excellent sales skills and an entrepreneurial spirit.

At least five to seven years industry-related sales experience with a sound knowledge of luxury product and service is essential.

The successful candidate must embody a strong work ethic, excellent diplomatic skills, and should be able to take a strategic and macro outlook on every aspect of the job. He or she must not be afraid of making difficult decisions, often within a tight timeframe in a fast-moving environment. Candidates must possess the ability to 'think big' as well as creatively, and should have a sound grasp of both the industry and the relevant competition. They must be capable of making compelling high-level presentations and must possess strong skills in both written and oral communications.

Ultimately, the successful candidate will be both confident and competent. They will require the stature and poise to play a leadership role within the agency sales division of a leading global luxury brand company. Enthusiasm for the company's products must be clearly demonstrable, whilst their high ethical standards, honesty and resourcefulness will rapidly earn the respect of the team. A prerequisite will be the individual's ability to deliver on aggressive sales plans.

The Sales Director must be very "hands-on" and capable of both strategic and tactical implementation with minimal support staff. He | she will be responsible for the development and implementation of sales strategies designed to drive profitable revenue in their territory.


Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Develop territory action plan to meet or exceed revenue targets through agency and partner sales
  • Produce reporting metrics to measure, analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of sales, methods, costs and results
  • Establish and implement short-range and long-range territory goals, objectives, policies and procedures
  • Coordinate and implement sales strategy, selling cycle and methodology to provide best return on investment
  • Create and maintain competitive analysis and develop SWOT sales techniques
  • Use and maintain the integrity of the company's CRM system
  • Analyze sales statistics to determine sales growth potential
  • In conjunction with Vice President, seek out and target new customers and new markets
  • Coordinate with the marketing department with planning and development of territory sales materials
  • Represent the company at various community, events and | or business meetings to promote the company as required.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as require
  • Be the brand ambassador and instill confidence and loyalty in the Cox & Kings brand.

  • Understands global retail leisure outbound distribution strategies (American market traveling outbound through travel agencies)
  • Extensive international destination knowledge, including Cox & Kings destinations preferred.
  • Existing sales relationships and a demonstrated track record of sales success required within a sales territory with a leading travel/hotel company.


Special Requirements

  • Valid Driver's License
  • Up to 75% business travel expected, including international destinations at times throughout the year.
