ESCORTED GROUP JOURNEYS
EXPLORE THE WORLD IN STYLE WITH LIKE-MINDED TRAVELERS ACCOMPANIED BY AN EXPERT TOUR DIRECTOR
Our Escorted Discovery and Luxury Group Journeys are renowned for their convivial fellow travelers, exciting touring options, veteran guides, and great savings. These tours are well paced and expertly designed.
Features of Cox & Kings Escorted Groups:
- Tour Director: Veteran Tour Directors escort you throughout your journey (unless otherwise specified).
- Expert Local Guides: On most tours, in addition to the services of the Tour Director, highly knowledgeable Local Guides accompany you to introduce you to the wonders of the region. In some cases, where appropriate, the Tour Director will also act as the local guide.
- Great Companions: Escorted Journeys are perfect for singles, people who are very social and enjoy making an international group of friends, and for those who are value conscious.
- Scheduled Flights: Tours use scheduled flights in economy class for almost all internal flights.
- Comfortable Land Travel: For road journeys, Cox & Kings uses vehicles appropriate to the size of the group. On rail journeys, groups are booked in the best class available on the train.
- First-Class Accommodation: The standard and style of accommodation varies from place to place and tour to tour. However, Cox & Kings generally uses 4 or 5-star hotels — or the best available — on all tours. On designated “Luxury Journeys,” you will stay at 5-star, deluxe properties throughout. A “Discovery Journey” is best suited to a more adventurous traveler, as it will typically include some more physically challenging activities and basic accommodation — in underdeveloped areas, we stay at the best available property, which may be rustic at best.
- Small Group Sizes: For your comfort, we keep our groups small and manageable with a maximum of 18 on Luxury Group Journeys and a maximum of 25 on Discovery Group Journeys.
PRIVATE JOURNEYS
HAND-CRAFTED ITINERARIES FOR ONE OR MORE TRAVELERS
Many of our journeys are only available as Private Journeys for one, two or more travelers on a date of your choice, subject to schedules and availability. Also, any Escorted Group Journey may be taken as a Private Journey. If you’d like to be accompanied by a Tour Director on your Private Journey, just let one of our Destination Managers know. We’d be happy to arrange it.
Features of Cox & Kings Private Journeys:
- Support on the Ground: A Cox & Kings representative meets you at each new destination on your journey (unless you are in transit). This representative accompanies you to your hotel, helps with your check-in and confirms the itinerary for your stay.
- Transport: You have a private vehicle and driver for all road journeys. All cars used are air-conditioned, except for safari vehicles, unless requested otherwise and adhere to international safety norms.
- Private Guides: Your private English-speaking local guide will accompany most sightseeing excursions — so you can immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of your destination.
- Accommodation: You have the choice of staying at a range of hotels, including Deluxe, Luxury, First Class, Heritage and Boutique.
- Travel at Your Own Pace: Private Journeys are adaptable, allowing you to start road journeys or sightseeing when you choose — on the advice of your local guide.
