Day 1Arrive in Bogota
Upon arrival in the Colombian capital of Bogota, you will be welcomed by your Cox & Kings local representative and escorted by private car to your hotel, the Four Seasons Hotel Casa Medina. The hotel is nestled in Zona G (for Gourmet), Bogota's premier dining destination.

Day 2Bogota - Zipaquira - Bogota
After breakfast, drive through the Colombian countryside to Zipaquira, a colonial town one-hour north of Bogota. Visit nearby Catedral de Sal (Salt Cathedral), built deep into an active salt mine. After a guided tour of the cathedral and its unique salt sculptures, enjoy a walk through Zipaquira, including its main square, where colonial-era buildings still stand. Return to Bogota in the afternoon, where the remainder of the day is at your leisure. Or, ask Cox & Kings to book an optional tour, such as a walking tour of street art in Bogota or a visit to a monastery built high above Bogota's city center, reachable by a funicular or cable car.Four Seasons Hotel Casa Medina (B)
Enjoy a walking tour of La Candelaria, described as the "heart and soul" of Bogota. Your private guide will take you to sites including the famous Plaza Bolivar, a local coffee shop to savor authentic Colombian coffee, and the Botero Museum, which houses the works of Colombian artist Fernando Botero. The museum's collection also includes art by Dali, Monet, and Van Gogh. Afterwards, enjoy a short visit to Casa De la Moneda, a museum that traces local history through numismatics, starting with exhibitions of pre-Colombian pots and misshapen coins to modern day currency.
Your guide will then escort you to the Museo de Oro (Gold Museum), an institution called "Bogota's most famous museum and one of the most fascinating in all of South America." The Museo de Oro contains one of the finest collections in the world of pre-Hispanic gold, with over 35,000 pieces of gold work in the collection.

Day 4Bogota - Cartagena
After breakfast, embark on a short flight from Bogota to Cartagena. Upon arrival, a Cox & Kings representative will escort you to your hotel, the Sofitel Legend Santa Clara. Embark by private car to Castillo San Felipe, once the largest Spanish fort in the Americas and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Established in 1536 and expanded over the years, the fort continues to spellbound visitors with its labyrinth of tunnels, some of which are open to the public for exploration. Return to the Old Town of Cartagena, where the remainder of the day is at your leisure. Optional tours such as an evening tour of Cartagena's old town via horse-drawn carriage can be easily arranged with Cox & Kings.
