    Arrive Chennai

    Upon arrival in Chennai, you will be met by your local Cox & Kings representative and escorted to your hotel.

    Chennai

    Today, drive outside of Chennai to Kanchipuram, a city famous for its hand-woven silk fabrics and saris. Visit some of the weaving centers of the town, easily recognized by the distinctive clacking of the looms.

    To Mysore via Bangalore

    This morning, fly to Bangalore where you will be met and driven to Mysore. Stop en route to visit the spectacular island fortress of Srirangapatna, Tipu Sultan's summer palace and the mausoleum of Gumbaz. Upon arrival in Mysore, see the fabulous Mysore Palace.

    Mysore

    Early this morning, marvel at the colorful displays of vegetables, fruits, flowers and spices at the Devaraja Market. Continue to the City Palace and then to a silk factory to view the making of Mysore silk.

    To Ahmedabad via Bangalore

    Return to Bangalore for your flight onto Ahmedabad. Upon arrival in Ahmedabad, you will be escorted to your hotel.

    Today, visit the Calico Museum of Textiles, the premier textile museum in India. You will also tour the Kite Museum, a collection of rare kites. Continue to the fascinating Utensils Museum and enjoy a vegetarian meal at its Vishalla Restaurant.

    Ahmedabad

    Today, enjoy an excursion to Sayla where mirrors are made for Gujarat's famous mirror-work embroidery. Then, visit Bharwad and Kathi villages, where beadwork traditions thrive.

    To Jaipur

    This morning, complete your sightseeing of Ahmedabad with a walk through the old city with its unique architecture. Then, fly to Jaipur in the afternoon.

    Embark on an excursion to Sanganer, which is famous for its crafts, hand-printed textiles and handmade paper. Traditional small floral prints are the specialty of Sanganer block printers, and their unique creations are simply stunning. This afternoon, head straight to the heart of the city to explore the history of the gem of Rajasthan at the City Palace Museum.

    To Varanasi via Delhi

    This morning fly via Delhi to Varanasi, the holiest city on the Ganges River. Travel by rickshaw to the ghats and observe the sacred rituals on the banks of the river.

    Varanasi

    Rise early and embark on a cruise on the Ganges to witness pilgrims at their daily ablutions as the rising sun gilds the skies. Later, visit Varanasi's silk weaving centers for a tour of this fascinating industry. Varanasi's silk sarees are known for their heavy gold and silver brocades - and these exquisite creations are famed throughout the country.

    To Lucknow

    This morning, drive to the city of Lucknow and tour the city, visiting the gorgeous mausoleum of Bara Imambara Chota Imambara and the imposing gateway of Rumi Darwaza.

    Lucknow

    This morning visit the ruins of the Residency, which was the site of the first battle for Indian independence in 1857. Proceed to the bazaar for a tour of the renowned chikan embroidery centers, a style of hand embroidery that attained its glory in Lucknow.
