Streams from Kilimanjaro surface in the center of the park, creating swamps that support a rich diversity of flora and fauna. This area is populated by local Masai, who share the land with local conservation efforts. Ol Donyo Wuas – 3-nights (B, L, D)

To the Land of the Samburu
Today, fly by light aircraft north of Nairobi to Samburu National Park. This region is semi-arid with a rugged, hilly terrain, and it is well known for providing the opportunity to see wildlife that only lives in the dry north of Kenya. Sightings of large herds of elephant and also crocodile are common along the Ewaso Nyiro River, which meanders through this arid region, surrounded by clusters of doum palms and acacia trees. Visitors have a good chance of spotting Kenya's 'northern five': Beisa oryx, Reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, Grevy's zebra and Somali ostrich. Samburu herdsmen, dressed in rich red blankets, are often seen driving their herds. Spend three nights exploring the National Reserves and surrounds. SaSaab Camp – 3 nights (B, L, D)

Day 8
To the Masai Mara National Reserve
Fly to the Masai Mara in the southwestern corner of Kenya, close to the Tanzanian border. The scenery here is iconic to East Africa, boasting wide plains interlaced with fertile rivers, framed under huge skies. The Mara are known for their density of game, and it has deservedly become one of best-known reserves in all of Africa. Throughout the year, the Masai Mara is a place of natural drama, a kaleidoscope of color and life. The famed "Big Five" - elephant, rhino, lion, leopard and buffalo – all roam the reserve, together with hundreds of other species, from the fastest animal on earth, the cheetah, to crocodiles and magnificent birds of prey. Most breathtaking of all are the months between July and October, when the savannah teems with millions of wildebeest and zebra during the great migration, certainly one of the greatest wildlife spectacles on earth. Following the migration are the predators, including the dominant hunter of the Mara, the lion.

Although the Mara is filled with a variety of different styles of accommodations, there are only a select few that truly stand above the rest. We choose camps whose guides will take you to where the action is, yet will also make an effort to keep you away from the crowds that the main park tends to bring, exposing you to some of the Mara’s hidden gems. Spend three nights in this world-famous wildlife paradise. Mara Plains Camp – 4-nights (B, L, D)
Days 9 - 11
Masai Mara National Reserve
Enjoy an early morning hot air balloon safari over the Masai Mara, followed by the traditional ballooning Champagne breakfast. Early morning and late afternoon game drives in the Masai Mara. (B, L, D)

You may spend the afternoon freshening up and enjoying some of Nairobi’s best attractions: the Giraffe Centre, Daphne Sheldrick Elephant & Rhino Orphanage and Utamaduni and Kazuri beads for shopping. This evening, transfer to Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, and depart on your international flight. (B, L, D)
