Itinerary

Day 1
Arrive Nairobi, Kenya
Upon arrival in Nairobi, you will be met and transferred to your beautiful English-styled manor house with resident giraffe that come onto the property to visit, especially during breakfast! There are also warthogs that live on the grounds. Giraffe Manor – 2-nights (D)
Day 2
Nairobi
See a bit of Nairobi and spend more time at the Giraffe Center. In the afternoon, enjoy a private visit to Dame Daphne Sheldrick’s elephant orphanage, where you can feed and interact with the baby elephants up close. (B, D)
Day 3
To Lewa Wildlife Conservancy
Transfer to the airport this morning for your scheduled flight north to Lewa, East Africa’s most progressive wildlife conservancy. Arrive at Lewa Wilderness Lodge in time for lunch and an afternoon game drive. The nine beautiful rooms here feature plenty of space for families, and excellent views over the rolling hills of Lewa. Days 4-5
Lewa Conservancy
Lewa is ideal for kids, as the owners’ children grew up here themselves. Enjoy a range of activities, including traditional game drives, walks with the local Masai, horseback riding for all levels, scenic flights in the open-cockpit biplane and exploration of the NgareNdare rainforest with beautiful waterfalls and swimming holes. You also have excellent opportunities to meet the locals because of the strong relationship between the lodge and the community.

Lewa’s wildlife is also unique, featuring the “northern five” consisting of beautiful species not found in other parts of Kenya: reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, gerenuk, Beisa oryx and Somali ostrich. And the conservancy is a sanctuary for rhinos, giving you a great chance of seeing black or white rhino on this journey. (B, L, D)
Day 6
To Masai Mara
Fly to the Masai Mara today, arriving in time for lunch and a siesta before your afternoon game drive. Leleshwa Camp is located in a private conservancy bordering the Masai Mara National Reserve, allowing for game viewing inside the reserve as well as night drives, walks, off-road game viewing and cultural opportunities. There are seven en suite, tented rooms and suites set along a river. Leleshwa caters uniquely to children depending on their ages and interests and is also unique in having a fully equipped digital photography center with five iMacs and a projector for viewing and editing pictures while on safari. Days 7-9
Masai Mara
Enjoy full-day game drives, cultural visits to Masai villages, photography and guided walks through the bush. The Masai Mara features a plethora of big cats, elephant, rhino, buffalo, Burchell’s zebra, Masai giraffe, beautiful birds and much more. The wildebeest migration tends to be in the Mara between July and October, varying annually depending on the rainfall. (B, L, D)
Day 10
To the South Coast & Diani Beach
Fly from the Mara to gorgeous Diani Beach today, on the south coast of Kenya overlooking the Indian Ocean. Upon arrival, check in to your beachfront resort, which features beautiful villas with easy access to a glorious strand of beach. Almanara Resort – 4 nights (B, L, D)
Days 11-13
Diani Beach
Savor your days in this tropical paradise. Relax by the swimming pool and enjoy fishing, dhow trips, snorkeling, an array of water sports, and guided walks. (B, L, D)
