Itinerary

Day 1
Arrive Kilimanjaro / Arusha
Upon arrival in Kilimanjaro, you will be welcomed by your Cox & Kings local representative and transferred to your hotel. Arusha Coffee Lodge – 1 night (D)
Day 2
To Tarangire National Park
Embark with your private guide by 4x4 vehicle to Tarangire National Park. This 1,100-square mile wildlife sanctuary is known for its tree-climbing lions, huge herds of elephants in the dry season and numerous baobab trees. Oliver’s Camp – 3-nights (B, L, D)
Days 3-4
Tarangire National Park
After a few game drives, why not take a guided walk in the bush for a different perspective? The stunning natural beauty of this area is perfect for photography as well, and the privacy in unrivaled in northern Tanzania. (B, L, D)
Day 5
Lake Manyara & Ngorongoro Crater
Today visit Lake Manyara National Park en route to the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater. Set in an acacia forest on the rim of the crater, your camp has only 8 tented rooms, each with an en suite bathroom and heater for the cool nights. Lemala Ngorongoro Camp – 2-nights (B, L, D)
Day 6
Ngorongoro Crater
Get a very early start to enjoy the early light and be one of the first into the crater, only a 15-minute drive from your perfectly positioned camp. The crater rim sits nearly 2,000 feet above the crater floor, which spans 100-square miles and contains one of the greatest concentrations of wildlife in Africa. The “big five” (lion, leopard, rhino, buffalo and elephant) can be found, along with most other species found in East Africa. Predators thrive on the herds of thousands of gazelles and antelopes, and many endangered black rhino seek shelter here. (B, L, D)
Day 7
To Central Serengeti
Embark with your guide today toward the famed Serengeti National Park. En route, stop at Olduvai — or more accurately Oldupai — Gorge to learn a bit about the famed excavations here. You’ll also pay a special visit to a Masai village to look inside their homes and see their hand-beaded jewelry. This afternoon, arrive at your camp, located between the central and southern Serengeti in the Moru Kopjes area. Relax in your spacious tent with a comfortable en suite bathroom. Day 8
Central Serengeti
Today you can enjoy half or full-day game drives with your private guide and vehicle. This area is known for its abundance of lion, leopard and cheetah, as well as the rare chance to see the black rhino. (B, L, D)
Day 9
To Northern Serengeti
Continue northward to Sayari Camp, ideally located for the dry season months when the great migration straddles the Masai Mara of Kenya and the Northern Serengeti. Sayari has only 15 luxurious tented suites, each with an en suite bathroom and spacious decks overlooking the plains. Relax in the central pool, built around natural rocks. Days 10-11
Northern Serengeti
Embark on half- or full-day game drives with your private guide and vehicle. Watch the lion stalk its prey, the sleek cheetah fly across the plains and families of giraffe munching contentedly on acacia leaves. (B, L, D)
Day 12
Depart Kilimanjaro
Bid farewell to your guide, and return by air to Arusha, where you will have the use of a dayroom until the departure of your onward flight. Arusha Coffee Lodge – dayroom (B, L)
