Itinerary

Day 1
Arrive Cairo
Upon arrival in Cairo, you will be welcomed by your Cox & Kings local representative and transferred to your luxury hotel overlooking the Nile. Four Seasons at Nile Plaza (Nile View Room) – 3-nights
Day 2
Pyramids
Discover the iconic Great Pyramids at Giza, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. As you stand in the desert at the foot of these massive structures, gaze in awe at the engineering and artistry of the world’s most famous tombs. Then embark on a voyage to pharaonic times at the fascinating Solar Boat Museum. This afternoon, travel to Memphis and nearby Saqqara to see the Step Pyramid, the earliest of all the classic memorials. Return to Giza for the unforgettable sound-and-light show at the Great Pyramids. (B)
Day 3
Cairo
This morning, marvel at the highlights of Islamic and Coptic Cairo, and visit the Ben Ezra Synagogue, which according to legend was built on the site where baby Moses was found in the reeds. Stop at the Gayer-Anderson Museum for a glimpse of 17th-century life in Cairo and visit the elegant Ibn Tulun mosque. Stop for lunch at Naguib Mahfouz Restaurant before embarking on an exploration of the labyrinth of shops and alleyways in the ancient Khan el-Khalili Souq. (B, L)
Day 4
Cairo / Abu Simbel / Aswan
Early this morning, transfer to the airport for your flight to Abu Simbel and a tour of the rock-hewn Temples of Ramses II. Continue to Aswan where you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before visiting the impressive High Dam and the lovely Temple of Philae. If there’s time, savor the sunset from the decks of a traditional felucca on a cruise to a nearby Nubian village with a fascinating market. Old Cataract Hotel (Luxury Nile View Room) – 1-night (B, L)
Day 5
Kom Ombo / Edfu / Luxor
Spend the day seeing the sights on the way to the fabled city of Luxor. Stop at Kom Ombo to see the massive temple shared by the gods Sobek and Harocies. After lunch, continue to Edfu where you will visit the shrine of the Falcon God Horus, one of the best-preserved ancient temples in Egypt. Late this afternoon, arrive in Luxor and check into your hotel. Hilton Luxor Resort (Deluxe Nile View Room) – 3-nights (B, L)
Day 6
Luxor
Cross the river to visit the West Bank and explore the tombs in the stunning Valley of the Kings, including the tomb of Ramses VI, which boasts the most sophisticated decorative hieroglyphics in the area. Then it’s on to the striking Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, framed by towering cliffs and the imposing Colossi of Memnon. (B)

Option: Soar above the Valley of the Kings on a hot air balloon ride in Luxor.
Day 7
Luxor
This morning, take a short drive to Dendera, where the remarkable Temple of Hathor stands testament to the glory of ancient Egypt. Continue your journey of discovery at the incredible temple complex of Karnak and Luxor Temple. As night falls, attend the electrifying sound-and-light show at Karnak. (B)
Day 8
Cairo
Today, fly from Luxor to Cairo and transfer to your luxury hotel overlooking the Nile. Four Seasons at Nile Plaza (Deluxe Nile View Room) – 2 nights (B)
Day 9
Cairo
Pay a morning visit to the great Egyptian Museum, repository of many of the glories of antiquity, including the spectacular treasures of the boy king Tutankhamen. This afternoon, follow your own path and explore or relax as you like. (B)
Day 10
Depart Cairo
Today, you will be transferred to the airport for your international flight. (B)
