Day 1
Arrive Bangkok
Upon arrival in Bangkok, you will be welcomed by your Cox & Kings local representative and transferred to your hotel. Novotel Airport Hotel – 1 night
Day 2
To Luang Prabang
Fly to Luang Prabang, the best-preserved colonial city in Southeast Asia. This afternoon, visit several revered shrines and watch the sunset from the banks of the Mekong River. Luang Say Residence – 3 nights (B)
Day 3
Luang Prabang
Early this morning, watch the locals give alms to orange-robed monks in a sacred daily tradition. Return to your hotel for breakfast before visiting Vat Xieng Thong, considered the most beautiful temple in the city. Then board a traditional riverboat for a trip up the Mekong River to explore the famous caves of Pak Ou, which house thousands of statues. Savor a picnic lunch before returning to Luang Prabang for a guided stroll through the colorful night market. (B, L, D)
Day 4
Luang Prabang
This morning immerse yourself in Lao culture at the Traditional Arts & Ethnology Center and the National Museum. Venture into the forest to see the lovely Khouangsi waterfall, enjoy a picnic lunch and visit a local village. This evening, climb Vat Phousi Hill to admire the temples and the panoramic views. Day 5
To Vientiane
Fly to Vientiane this morning. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Then take a tour of this charming city, including a textile workshop and a local market. The Settha Palace Hotel (Deluxe Room) – 2 nights (B, L)
Day 6
Vientiane
After a leisurely breakfast, set off for a guided visit to the oldest temple in Vientiane and That Luang Stupa, the national symbol, which was built in 1566. (B)
Day 7
To Phnom Penh
Fly to Phnom Penh this morning. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and visit Wat Phnom and the French Quarter. Get acquainted with Cambodian history at the Royal Palace and the National Museum. Raffles Le Royal (Landmark Room) – 2 nights (B)
Day 8
Phnom Penh
Spend a sober but fascinating morning visiting the Killing Fields of Choeung Ek and the Tuol Sleng Museum, once an infamous prison. Later, explore the Russian Market, a lively outdoor bazaar. This evening, take a relaxing riverside stroll. (B, L)
Day 9
To Siem Reap
This morning, fly to Siem Reap, gateway to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Angkor. After checking in to your hotel, begin your exploration of these magnificent temples with a visit to Angkor Wat, the 12th-century architectural masterpiece. End your day with a marvelous view of the sunset from Phnom Bakheng Hill. Hotel De La Paix (Deluxe Garden View Room) – 3 nights (B)
Day 10
Siem Reap
See the massive south gate of Angkor Thom, the enigmatic Bayon temple, the terraces of the Elephants and the Leper King and the jungle temple of Ta Prohm, which has been left as it was discovered. Explore the Angkor National Museum and then head outside town for a visit to a floating village. Back in Siem Reap, stroll through the bustling old market. (B, L)
Day 11
Siem Reap
Steep yourself in the beauty of the countryside with a visit to the Khulen Mountains and the amazing stone carvings of the Stung Kbal Spean River. Take a scenic drive through villages and rice paddies to the elegant remote temples of Beng Melea, Banteay Srei and Banteay Samre. (B, L)
Day 12
Depart Siem Reap
Today you will be transferred to the airport for your international flight. (B)
