Itinerary

Day 1
Arrive Delhi
Upon arrival in Delhi, transfer to your hotel. The Taj Mahal Hotel (Deluxe Room) – 3 nights
Day 2
Delhi
Explore Old Delhi’s Red Fort (closed on Monday), an opulent bastion of the Mughal Empire. Also visit Shah Jahan’s Jama Masjid mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world. Savor lunch and then enjoy some time to explore on your own. (B, L)
Day 3
Delhi
Get acquainted with the highlights of New Delhi including the red sandstone tower of Qutab Minar; the garden tomb of Emperor Humayun; and the imposing India Gate. (B)

Option: Enjoy an excursion to Agra by rail.
Day 4
To Panna via Khajuraho
Take to the skies and fly to Khajuraho. Marvel at the intricately carved Hindu and Jain temples of Khajuraho, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Later, drive to Panna. The Sarai at Toria (Cottage) – 2 nights (B, L, D)

Enjoy morning and evening Game drives to spot the Leopard, Wild Dog, Sloth Bear, Python and Langur or proceed for a village walk to experience the rustic life of this region. (B, L, D)
Day 6
To Bandhavgarh
After an early morning game drive, make your way to Bandhavgarh for an afternoon safari. Dominated by a large fort, this park was the former hunting reserve of the Maharaja of Rewa. Mahua Kothi (Cottage) – 3 nights (B, Packed Lunch, D)
Day 7
Bandhavgarh
Travel deep into the jungle on morning and afternoon game drives for a rendezvous with the creatures of the forest, if you’re lucky, view the most sought-after beast – the Tiger. (B, L, D)

Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives as you continue your exploration of this diverse jungle reserve. (B, L, D)
Day 9
To Kanha
After an early morning game drive, make your way to Kanha, the inspiration for Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book. Ride through the jungle and search for the elusive tiger and a rare species of deer. Banjaar Tola (Suite) – 3 nights (B, Packed Lunch, D)

Imagine yourself an intrepid explorer to discover the hidden wonders of Kanha. (B, L, D)

To Pench
Pench National Park, nestled in the lower southern reaches of the Satpura Hills, is known for its large herds of gaur (Indian bison) and their fearsome predator, the Leopard. Baghvan Lodge (Suite) – 2 nights (B, Packed Lunch, D)

Appreciate the variety of birds and wildlife in Pench’s teak and deciduous forests. (B, L, D)

To Mumbai
Drive to Nagpur and enjoy lunch before you fly to Mumbai. The Taj Mahal Palace (Deluxe Sea-View Room, Tower Wing) – 2 nights (B, L)
Day 15
Mumbai
This morning, explore the highlights of cosmopolitan Mumbai before you enjoy an excursion to Elephanta Caves (closed on Monday) - famed for the stunning examples of Indian rock art. (B)

Depart Mumbai
