Itinerary

Day 1
Arrive Paro – To Thimphu
Upon arrival in Paro, take a scenic drive to the Bhutanese capital Thimphu. Amankora (Suite) – 1 night (L, D)
Day 2
To Punakha
Take a private tour of the Memorial Chorten, erected in 1974 as a sign of hope for world prosperity. Next, pay a visit to Thimphu’s Zoo and the National Library. Stop at the traditional Painting and Wood Craft School before departing for Punakha. Amankora (Suite) – 2 nights (B, L, D)
Day 3
Punakha
Explore Punakha Dzong, the winter residence of the Chief Abbot built in 1637. Continue to the imposing Wangdu Phodrang Dzong and walk through the village to the pretty Temple of Fertility. (B, L, D)
Day 4
To Jakar (Bumthang)
Embark on a full-day scenic journey to Jakar, one of the most spectacular valleys in Bhutan. En-route you will visit the weaving center at Chummy Valley. Amankora (Suite) – 2 nights (B, L, D)
Day 5
Jakar (Bumthang)
Experience the religious culture at the old temples of Jambay, Kurjey, Tamshing and the Jakar Dzong. Later, visit a typical Bhutanese farmhouse. (B, L, D)
Day 6
To Gangtey (Phobjikha Valley)
A full-day drive brings you to the Phobjikha Valley, the winter home of Bhutan’s black-necked cranes. En-route visit the 15th century Trongsa Dzong. Amankora (Suite) – 1 night (B, L, D)
Day 7
To Thimphu
Soak up the majestic alpine scenery as you return to Thimphu. Amankora (Suite) – 1 night (B, L, D)
Day 8
To Paro
After a stop at the fascinating Textile Museum, drive back to Paro where you visit the National Museum and the Paro Dzong. Amankora / Uma (Suite) – 2 nights (B, L, D)
Day 9
Paro
Visit the Drukgyel Dzong, built in 1649, and then hike through spectacular terrain to the Tiger’s Nest, Bhutan’s holiest monastery. The view of the temples clinging to the high cliff is a picturesque reward. (B, L, D)
Day 10
Depart Paro
Today, transfer to the airport for your onward flight. (B)
