Itinerary

Day 1
Arrive Santiago
Upon arrival in Santiago, you will be met by a Cox & Kings representative and transferred to your hotel. After some time to freshen up, explore the city, including the cathedral, the pre-Columbian museum and San Cristobal Hill. Stop by the former home of the Chilean poet Pablo Neruda before dinner at one of the capital’s exclusive restaurants. Grand Hyatt – 2-nights (D)
Day 2
Maipo Valley
In the Maipo Valley, visit the Santa Rita winery. Take a tour, sample some wines, enjoy lunch and stroll through the museum. Continue to Haras de Pirque winery, located in the foothills of the Andes. (B)
Day 3
To Puerto Montt / Puerto Varas
Fly south to Puerto Montt and transfer to the town of Puerto Varas, surrounded by snow-capped volcanoes. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure. Cumbres Patagonicas Hotel – 1-night (B)
Day 4
To Bariloche
Travel east along the shores of Lake Llanquihue, savoring the breath-taking views of the Osorno and Calbuco volcanoes. Board a catamaran to cross Lake Todos Los Santos. Continue your journey to the heart of the Argentinean Lake District. Hotel Llao Llao – 3-nights (B, L)
Day 5
Bariloche
Enjoy an easy hike to the summit of Llao Llao Hill for panoramic views of the lake. This evening, dine at a local restaurant. (B, D)
Day 6
Argentinean Lake District
Venture into the mountains today for an unforgettable adventure. Walk to the cliffs at Brazo Tristeza from where you enjoy magnificent panoramic views and a picnic lunch. This afternoon, embark on a kayak for a discovery of lovely Moreno Lake. (B, L)
Day 7
To Buenos Aires
Fly north to the “Paris of South America”. This evening, head to the historic neighborhood of San Telmo for a festive dinner and authentic tango show. Sofitel Buenos Aires – 3-nights (B, D)
Day 8
Exploring Buenos Aires
Join your private guide to discover the highlights of Buenos Aires, including the Plaza de Mayo’s cathedral and the Casa Rosada presidential palace. Continue to San Telmo; La Boca with its multicolor houses; the Barrio Norte neighborhood; and the parks of Palermo. (B)
Day 9
San Antonio de Areco
Spend a day in the pampas learning about the lives and traditions of the gauchos. Go behind the scenes at a local silversmith shop. On the grounds of the estancia, savor a classic Argentinean barbeque of fine beef and wines, then relax and enjoy the rural ambience. If you like, take a horseback ride. (B, L)
Day 10
To Iguazú Falls
Fly north to Iguazú. This afternoon, take a guided walk for panoramic views over one of the world’s great natural wonders. Then embark on a thrilling nautical adventure to the base of the falls. Sheraton Iguazú Hotel – 1-night (B, L, D)
Day 11
To Rio de Janeiro
Cross the border to Brazil. Enjoy a short walk along a system of catwalks that gets you up close and personal with the thundering cascades. After lunch, head to the airport for your flight to Rio de Janeiro. Copacabana Palace Hotel – 2-nights (B, L)
Day 12
Rio de Janeiro
Ascend to the summit of Corcovado Hill to see the iconic Christ the Redeemer statue. After a traditional barbeque lunch, take a cable car up Sugar Loaf Mountain for stunning panoramic views. Celebrate your journey this evening with a festive dinner and samba show. (B, D)
Day 13
Depart Rio de Janeiro
Enjoy the day at leisure before heading to the airport this evening for your onward flight. (B)
