Indulge in the scenic and culinary delights of the legendary Amalfi Coast. Day 1Arrive Positano/Amalfi Coast
Upon arrival at Naples airport or train station, you will be welcomed by your Cox & Kings representative and transferred to Positano. Built into the hillside, Positano is the Amalfi Coast's most picturesque and photogenic town, with steeply-stacked houses tumbling down to the sea in a cascade of sun-bleached peach, pink and terracotta colours. No less colourful are its steep streets and steps lined with wisteria-draped hotels, smart restaurants and fashionable boutiques.
John Steinbeck visited in 1953 and wrote in an article for Harper's Bazaar: 'Positano bites deep. It is a dream place that isn't quite real when you are there and becomes beckoningly real after you have gone.'Hotel Le Sirenuse - 3 Nights
Day 2Sorrento - Capri
Meet your driver and guide at the hotel for a transfer to the port of Sorrento, where a hydrofoil will whisk you to Capri. Upon arrival, visit the fabled Blue Grotto. Back on the Isle of Capri, embark on a private tour with a visit to Villa San Michele and a chairlift ride to Monte Solaro. Return by hydrofoil and transfer back to Sorrento. Via San Cesareo is the main street of the old town; here's where to go for the lively evening passegiata, then perhaps explore local dining options before returning to Positano.Hotel Le Sirenuse (B)
Day 3Amalfi Coast
Enjoy the day at leisure; take an excursion to Amalfi and Ravello, or explore ancient ruins in Pompeii and Herculaneum. If the weather permits, you may even want to ascend Mt. Vesuvius. For dinner, try chef Alfonso Caputo’s Taverna del Capitano in Marina del Cantone, at the very tip of the peninsula, and serving up the very best of regional cuisine.Hotel Le Sirenuse (B, D)
