Take a tour of India by rail aboard the Deccan Odyssey. Set sail to explore the 6th century caves of Elephanta Island. Explore the varied religious sanctuaries of the Ellora Caves. Visit Bibi-Ka-Maqbara, a replica of India's iconic Taj Mahal, in Aurangabad. Drive to Maharashtra's Pench National Park, an environment bursting with life and enjoy an afternoon Safari. Head to the Tadoba Tiger Reserve and search for the Royal Bengal Tiger before learning about the local naturalists conservation efforts. Take a trip to the Ajanta Caves, a World Heritage Site depicting the life of the Buddha. Tour a vineyard in Nashik before enjoying a wine tasting and lunch.

    Upon arrival in Mumbai, you will be escorted to your hotel.

    Explore Mumbai's kaleidoscopic past and vibrant present as you see some of the landmarks today. Visit India's largest open-air laundry and stroll through a bustling Crawford Market. Mumbai carries the flavor of its long association with the British and there is an old-world charm in its Indo-Saracenic, Gothic and Muslim buildings.

    To Aurangabad

    After breakfast this morning, set sail to visit the spectacular 6th-century city of caves on Elephanta Island, which display an incredible collection of rock art dedicated to Shiva. This evening, you will be transferred to Mumbai's Chattrapati Shivaji Terminus to board your train.

    Ellora Caves

    Proceed to visit Ellora Caves, a World Heritage site. A unique artistic creation, with its
    sanctuaries devoted to Buddhism, Hinduism and Jainism, it illustrates the spirit of tolerance that was characteristic of ancient India.

  • Day 5
    To Aurangabad

    Enjoy a day visiting BiBi- Ka-Maqbara, a replica of the Taj Mahal followed by a visit to the famous Himroo fabric weaving center.

    To Pench

    Arrive at Ramtek and drive to Maharashtra's Pench National Park. Named after the Pench River which splits it into almost equal halves, the park is immensely rich in bio-diversity, an important ecosystem supporting an abundance of flora and fauna, including a rich variety of aquatic life. Enjoy morning and afternoon game safaris in the park.

    To Tadoba

    Reach Chandrapur and set out for the Tadoba Tiger Reserve - a magnificent habitat for the Royal Bengal Tiger. Enjoy lunch at the forest lodge, where the naturalists will interact with you narrating their admirable work in tiger conservation.

    To Ajanta Caves

    Arrive at Jalgaon railway station and drive to Ajanta Caves, a World Heritage site. These magnificent caves have exquisite ancient murals and sculptures that depict the life of Buddha.

    To Nashik

    Arrive at Nashik and walk along the Godavari Ghats; then head for a vineyard tour followed by wine tasting and lunch.

    Arrive at Mumbai, where your journey comes to an end. Upon arrival, you will be escorted to your hotel.

    The rest of the afternoon is at leisure.
