    Arrive Kigali

    Welcome to Rwanda! Upon arrival in Kigali, you will be welcomed at the airport and escorted to your hotel.

  • Day 2
    Kigali & Akagera National Park

    After breakfast, enjoy a city tour and an insightful tour of the Genocide Museum. Mid-day, transfer to Akagera National Park via a two- to three-hour scenic drive. Located at a relatively low altitude on the border with Tanzania, the park contains a labyrinth of swamps and lakes that follow the Akagera River.

    Akagera National Park

    Embark on a full-day game drive in the northern part of Akagera National Park, complete with a picnic lunch. Akagera is home to a healthy population of animal species like elephant, buffalo, hippo, zebra, giraffe, and a wide variety of bird life.

    Akagera National Park

    Enjoy another full day in this plains region, which offers an interesting contrast to the mountains that you'll explore in days to come. See how many of the region's eleven species of antelope you can spot today-your guide can help point them out.

  • Day 5
    Akagera National Park to Volcanoes National Park

    Take one last morning game drive in Akagera. After breakfast, transfer back to Kigali and onto Volcanoes National Park, via an approximately three-hour drive.

  • Day 6
    Volcanoes National Park

    Adventure awaits on today's gorilla trek. Because the gorillas are completely wild, the time it takes to track them various enormously, from as little as a half hour to half a day. But once you find them, you'll spend one magical hour observing them. In the afternoon, as time allows, your guide will take you through the villages of Kinigi and Musanze to experience daily life. Alternatively, you may plan a visit to the beautiful twin lakes of Burera and Ruhondo.

  • Day 7
    Volcanoes National Park

    Your second day of gorilla trekking starts bright and early at 7 a.m. Again, your guide will help you track gorillas in the wild, so you can see them in their natural habitat-an experience you won't soon forget. If yesterday's schedule didn't allow for a village or lake visit, this afternoon is the perfect time.

  • Day 8
    Volcanoes National Park to Kigali

    Spend this morning on a golden monkey trek. Afterwards, treat yourself to a celebratory lunch at The Bishops House. Afterwards, transfer back to Kigali and on to the airport.
